Crochet yourself a new holiday tradition!

The lacy yet sturdy nature of crochet stitches makes them perfect for making delicate snowflake ornaments! Make a few of your own in this fun and festive one-night class. We’ll follow the Snowflake ornament pattern from Heidi & Pia Johannesen’s book Classic Christmas Crochet. Instructor Maria will guide you through both written and charted instructions while we make two sizes of snowflakes together. Bring scrap yarn from home, or try one of our gorgeous sport weight cottons from Blue Sky Fibers, Amano, or Appalachian Baby. Add one of our sparkle yarns for some optional bling— it’s a great opportunity to practice holding two yarns together!

This is an Intermediate crochet class. Students should already know chain stitch, single crochet, and double crochet. Students will learn how to read a pattern, how to crochet in the round, tips for working with a small hook, and more.

Cost: $50.00 per student, class limit is 5 students.

Yarn - Sport weight cotton, or yarn of your choice. Bring scrap yarn from home or come in early to shop. We recommend Blue Sky Organic Cotton Sport, Amano Sami, or Appalachian Baby Cotton. Sparkle yarn (optional) is Lang Astra (gold or silver) or Laines du Nord Armé.

Pattern - Purchase Snowflakes pattern on Ravelry, or purchase the Classic Christmas Crochet book for the full collection of the Johannesens’ ornament patterns.

Materials: US D or F crochet hook (or size needed for gauge), tapestry needle, scissors, locking stitch markers.
