Knit a fun and festive family heirloom in our Holiday Stocking Class

Get a jump on your holiday knitting and learn some new skills with Valerie in our Holiday Stocking Class. You will learn the basics of sock knitting without having “second sock syndrome”…unless of course you have to make multiple family stockings! Students will work with their choice of Christmas Stocking Kits from Appalachian Baby Yarns. Each kit includes all the yarn you need in 100% wool, plus detailed charts for the colorwork design. With snowflakes, letters, foxes, owls, and even a possum, there’s something for everyone!

This is an intermediate class; students should know how to knit in the round and have a little experience with colorwork. You will learn basic sock construction, chart reading, turning the heel, toe construction and kitchener stitch. Classes are spaced two weeks apart to allow ample knitting time.

Class: (3) sessions 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Cost: $110.00 per student, class limit is 5 students.

Class Kits: Appalachian Baby Stocking Kits are available in the shop— arrive early or stop by before the first class session to choose your favorite design.

Materials: US 6 or US 7 x 12” circular needles and double-pointed needles, stitch marker, and darning needle for weaving in ends.

*Covid Compliance: Our instructors are fully vaccinated. In effort to keep other customers and students safe we require that students must be vaccinated and provide verification of vaccination dates. Masks are optional during the class and hand sanitizer will be provided upon entry. If you have a fever or are not feeling well please notify us and do not attend the session.
