Rasta Cowl Class - First Time Knitting in the Round
Rasta Cowl Class - First Time Knitting in the Round
Learn to knit in the round and make a bulky, cozy cowl!
Our Rasta Cowl class is designed for new and Advanced Beginner knitters who can cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. If you just took our Novice Knitting Class or have knit a scarf, this class is for you!
In just one class session, you’ll learn to knit in the round and follow a pattern: Marian by Jane Richmond. Using super bulky yarn and US 17 or 19 circular needles, this project knits up so quickly you will be halfway through the pattern by the end of the class! We think Malabrigo Rasta is the perfect yarn for this project— and you will love its softness and wide selection of beautiful colors. Don’t be surprised if you finish one cowl and immediately want to knit another one!
You will learn: How to read a pattern, how to knit in the round, and how to knit in seed stitch pattern.
Skills required: Students should know how to cast on (long tail), knit, and purl.
Yarn: Purchase super-bulky yarn of your choice in the shop. We highly recommend Malabrigo Rasta! A copy of the Marian pattern is included.
Tools Required: US 17 or US 19 x 24” circular needles, one large stitch marker, darning needle. Purchase needed materials in shop. Don’t worry— we’re here to help you pick out exactly what you need!
