Join us and other local yarn shops to raise money for Knit For Food!
The Knit for Food Knit-a-thon is a 12-hour knitting marathon to raise funds for hunger and food insecurity. 100% of the money we raise is equally divided between Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry, and Meals on Wheels.
We have formed a team called Chicago LYS's & Friends in collaboration with Nina Chicago, Firefly Fiber Arts Studio, and Knit 1. Click here for the link to our team's page!
How can you participate, you ask? There are several ways to contribute:
• Join our team and fundraise! Do this by going to our page Chicago LYS's & Friends, scroll down until you see the current list of team members, and click the link that says "join to fundraise." There you will create your own page as one of our team members and set your fundraising goal. Then join us for the Knit-a-Thon on Saturday, April 11th, any time between Noon to 5pm with your project, and stitch along with us.
• If you would love to Knit for Food but don't wish to fundraise as a team member, please make a $20 donation on behalf of our team here. This is Donna's page and she will be knitting like crazy to represent our shop! Anyone who makes this small donation is invited to attend the Knit-a-Thon at Sister-Arts.
• Even if you can't make it to the Knit-a-Thon, we hope you will consider making a donation on behalf of our team here.
If you’re looking for more hours of Knit-a-Thon fun, check out Nina Chicago’s 9am-9pm event, or our friends at the Windy City Knitting Guild and their multi-location event. There are events on Zoom, and all over the country in case you are not local to Chicago! See the complete list.
