Embrace spooky season and learn to crochet a patterned shawl!

Do you feel a chill in the air? Get into the Halloween spirit and keep warm with the Memento Mori Shawl, an easy triangular crochet shawl with a cute and spooky skull motif! In this one-session class we’ll learn to read a crochet pattern and start our shawls together. Perfect for new crocheters who know the single and double crochet stitches and are ready to make their first accessory from a pattern. The Memento Mori shawl includes both written instructions and charts.

This is an Advanced Beginner crochet class. We’ll review chain stitch and double crochet in class, but students should have prior experience with these stitches. If you’ve taken Novice Crochet, you’re ready for this class. Students will learn pattern reading, crochet charts, tips for counting stitches, and finishing techniques.

Cost: $50.00 per student, class limit is 6 students.

Yarn: Shawl requires 450-500 yards of DK weight yarn, and looks especially great with a subtle hand-dyed yarn. Come in early and choose from our selection of hand-dyed DK from MadelineTosh, Leading Men Fiber Arts, Trilogy Yarns and more.

Pattern: Memento Mori Shawl pattern by Melody Martinez included with class fee.

Other Materials: US H (5.0mm) crochet hook, tapestry needle, scissors.
