Sailor Slippers Knitting Class
Sailor Slippers Knitting Class
Knit a pair of Sailor Slippers then shrink to fit!
Throwing your wool handknits in the washing machine is usually a bad idea… unless you’re felting! Learn to harness the power of felting with Anne Germain’s super popular Sailor Slippers pattern and 100% wool super bulky yarn. The felting process creates a super-thick dense wool to warm your feet in the cold winter months.
During this four-week class, Donna will lead you through the Sailor Slippers pattern which is worked flat in stockinette stitch starting with the heel panel. You will learn to pick up stitches from the heel panel, form the the top of the slipper, move on to the sole, and add shaping. Next, the foot and sole are seamed together and an applied i-cord is added to form the slipper opening. Donna’s done quite a bit of felting in the past and will provide a thorough review of the machine felting process so you’re ready to throw your finished slippers in the wash and watch the magic happen!
Skills: This is an advanced beginner class. Students should know how to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, and be experienced with knitting flat using circular needles.
