Cold Plunge Hood Pattern

Cold Plunge Hood was designed by Maria Hlohowskyj for the 2025 Chicago Yarn Crawl and inspired by Sister-Arts Studio’s retreat at Isager Yarns in Denmark and classes with Cecelia Campochiaro. Made up of seventeen unique granny squares and two simple borders, the hood and its colors were inspired by brisk morning walks to Tversted beach for a quick dip in the North Sea! Maria hopes to show off how crocheters, too, can use marling to bring sophisticated color to simple stitch patterns.

Cold Plunge Hood is crocheted with two strands of Isager Merilin (80% wool, 20% linen, fingering weight) held together. The pattern calls for five balls total for a rich, complex color palette.

This pattern is free to download during the 2025 Chicago Yarn Crawl, July 26-August 3, 2025.
