Asylum Fibers yarns are coming to Sister-Arts Studio for an exclusive trunk show! We’re kicking things off with a sidewalk sale all day Saturday, July 25 from 11am – 6pm. Shop dozens of Asylum’s unique, colorful yarns and get inspired by amazing samples!
In the case of inclement weather, the trunk show will be moved indoors. Trunk show continues through August 2nd, or while supplies last.
Our trunk show will feature some of Asylum Fibers' most beloved yarn bases, including Mohair, Smooth Sock, Glitter Sock, DK, Sparkle DK, and signature mini-skein sets in Sock and Glitter Sock! About Asylum Fibers:
Stephanie Jones is the independent dyer behind Asylum Fibers, best known for unapologetically vibrant colors on luxurious yarn bases. Her roots as a dyer began in small-town Central Maine, where she was born and raised. Stephanie gets her love for crafts from her mother Susan, who taught her to sew, knit, crochet, and more from a young age; her work ethic from her dad, who has made her into a pretty decent "handy woman"; and her entrepreneurial spirit from her grandfather, who successfully opened and ran an auto shop without even a high school diploma.
Before Asylum Fibers was launched in February 2017, Stephanie was awarded her Masters in Opera Performance at Yale School of Music. After completing that program, she moved to NYC, where she became engrossed in the fiber community, attended her first Rhinebeck and Vogue Knitting Live, and established Asylum Fibers. In 2022, she moved to Connecticut where the lower level of her home has become a much more suitable dye studio than her small Queens apartment.
Stephanie currently performs with Floydian Trip (a Pink Floyd tribute band), traveling to theaters across the Northeast. She works full-time in HR & Compliance in Manhattan and dyes yarn the rest of the time. Her schedule is as crazy as it sounds, but Stephanie says her small business is here to stay. Color brings her joy and crafting is her happy place.
