This versatile vest will add a lot to your wardrobe... and your knitting skills!

The Lulu Slipover is classic and super-wearable piece from beloved designer Petite Knits. While this vest is relatively simple in its construction, it's full of techniques and shaping that will be a fun challenge for newer knitters! It’s also a great introduction to Petite Knits’ pattern writing style, opening up tons more of her hit designs to your knitting future.

Instructor Shara will lead students through the Lulu Slipover, which has seamless top-down construction but lots of flat knitting, too. Students will cast on together, then learn make-1 increases, picking up stitches, double knitting, and more. Students may choose between the Original version, the Junior version (for ages 1-14) using DK yarn, or the Chunky version, using worsted weight yarn.

Skills: This is an Intermediate class. Students should know how to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, and be comfortable knitting flat in stockinette stitch and knitting in the round in rib stitch.

You will learn: Pattern reading, measuring your gauge swatch, garment sizing, M1R & M1L increases, picking up stitches for collar and armhole edging, double knitting, Italian bind-off and alternate bind-off methods.

Yarn: DK or Worsted weight yarn in quantity required for your size. Shara is using West Yorkshire Spinners BFL Fleece for her Lulu Slipover. Visit the shop before class to make your selection and come to class with a gauge swatch completed. We’ll discuss how to use the gauge swatch during the first class.

For the Original or Junior (DK) versions: US 6x24", US 4x16" and 24", and US 1.5x24" needles
For the Chunky (worsted) version: US 8x24", US 7×24", US 6x16" and 24" and US 2.5×24" needles
Locking Stitch Markers, row counter, darning needle.

Pattern: Purchase Lulu Slipover , Lulu Slipover - Chunky Edition or Lulu Slipover Junior by Petite Knits on Ravelry, and come to class with a printed copy or tablet you are comfortable working on.
