Knit a sweet summer scarf and build your knitting skills!

Are looking to expand your knitting skills? Do you love cute summer accessories? If so, we are so excited to introduce you to the Lace Scarf by Helga Isager, a stylish and beginner-friendly new pattern! If you’ve knit a hat or simple project like the Sophie Scarf, the Lace Scarf is a great next step. Let Shara guide you through the pattern, where you’ll start by learning basic short rows. Then, after knitting the solid portion of the scarf, you’ll learn to make its fun, delicate lace edging.

This lightweight scarf can be made in summer-ready linen, soft and fluffy alpaca, and lots of other yarns in between. It’s a great way to learn short rows, lace, and other skills that will come in handy when you knit your first (or next) sweater!

What You Should Know: Students should know how to cast on, bind off, knit and purl. Experience completing a small project such as a hat or Sophie Scarf is recommended.

What You’ll Learn: Short rows, picking up stitches, basic knitted lace.

Cost: $90.00 per student, 6 student capacity*

Yarn: This flexible pattern is written for fingering weight yarn, but can be sized up using thicker (sport or DK weight) yarn. The designer used two strands of Isager Alpaca 1 held together for one version, and a single strand of Isager Soft Fine for another. Shara used one strand of Isager Trio 2 (cotton, linen, and viscose blend) for her summer version. Stop by the shop before class or come early to pick out your materials with our expert help!

Tools needed: US 6 (4mm) circular knitting needles, 24” or longer.
